  • Stevie Nicks Performs “The Lighthouse” & “Edge of Seventeen” on Saturday Night Live

  • American singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks appeared on Saturday Night Live to perform her latest song “The Lighthouse” and her classic track “Edge of Seventeen”.

This marks her first performance on SNL as a musical guest in 41 years since 1983.

Stevie Nicks told People about Saturday Night Live before appearing on the sketch show, “Well, performing on Saturday Night Live is now as it was then. It's just about the biggest thing you can do, bigger than a stadium show because it's going to go out all over the world. So if you wanna talk about being nervous about something! It doesn't matter how many shows you've done or how much you practice, you're going to be nervous!”

She continued, “You can never say that Saturday Night Live does not help you to gain lots of new followers, younger people, older people, etc. And so to be asked to do it again... I never thought I would do it again - so to be asked to do it again has thrown me into an absolute nervous frenzy, but I'm really excited. I'm really excited to play the new song.”
  • “The Lighthouse” was released last month and was inspired by the US Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v Wade.
Stevie Nicks co-produced the song with American singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow.

Stevie Nicks said of the song, “It seemed like overnight, people were saying, 'What can we, as a collective force, do about this...' For me, it was to write a song. Early one morning I was watching the news on TV and a certain newscaster said something that felt like she was talking to me ~ explaining what the loss of Roe v Wade would come to mean. I wrote the song the next morning and recorded it that night. I have often said to myself, 'This may be the most important thing I ever do. To stand up for the women of the United States and their daughters and granddaughters - and the men that love them. This is an anthem.”

  • “Edge of Seventeen” was released as the third single from her debut solo studio album “Bella Donna” in 1982.
The song reached on No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and became one of her most enduring and recognizable songs and has been covered by several artists.
