The Amazons Returns with New Song “Living A Lie”
British rock band The Amazons, consisting of Matt Thomson (vocals/guitar), Chris Alderton (guitar) and Elliot Briggs (bass), has returned with a new song “Living A Lie”.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1 Indie Show.
The song is their first music in two years since the 2022 album “How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me?”.
Also, it marks the first release as trio after drummer Joe Emmett left the band in 2022.
The song tacks past frustrations and future anxieties with riffs and roaring with aggression.
The track was written by Christopher Alderton, Ella McRobb, Elliot Briggs, Matthew Thomson, and Nick Atkinson. Produced by Pete Hutchings and Chris Alderton.
The band frontman Matt Thomson said of the song, “Living A Lie is an ode to staring at the ceiling in the early hours of the morning – when little fictions turn into hard truths in the stillness of the night. We were working on a very different sound before Living A Lie. This song articulated a tone and a feeling that spoke to our lives in a way we hadn’t been able to access previously.
