Hands Like Houses Teams Up with Normandie for New Song “Hurts Like Hell”
Australian rock band Hands Like Houses teamed up with Swedish alt-rock band Normandie to release a new song “Hurts Like Hell” on October 9, 2024.
This marks the first collaboration between Hands Like Houses and Normandie. But both bands had toured together in 2018.
For Hands Like Houses, the song is the second single since the 2024 EP “STRATO”, following “The Devil of Decisions” released last month.
Meanwhile Normandie, the song is their first release since their latest album “Dopamine”, which was released back in February.
The track was written by Alexander Pearson, Josh Raven, and Philip Strand. Produced by Callan Orr, Alexander Pearson, and Philip Strand.
Hands Like Houses said of the song, “Working with Normandie has been such a special process. We toured with these guys back in 2018 and had endless amounts of fun. We wanted this song to feel like it had equal parts influence of both bands, and rather than a feature, for it to feel like a true collaboration of both artists. We are stoked with the final product and loved bringing it to life with them.”- They continued, “The best way I could describe the song is about a dependency on someone but it makes you feel something so beautifully primal. It’s hurting you in so many ways but there’s a lustful feeling that pulls you back in. It’s so hard to get away from because when you’re wrapped up in it, you feel like you’ll never have it again and the consequence of that is what you deserve.”
