Rec Hall Releases New Song “Olive”
American indie rock band Rec Hall, consisting of John Barry (guitar/vocals), Lance Meliota (drums), and Ben Tyrrell (guitar/bass), released a new song “Olive” on October 4, 2024.
The song is their third single of 2024, following “How Long” and “Bored with My Feet”.
The track explores the downside of the chase of the oft-sought manic pixie dream girl when it's not reciprocated.
It was written by Benjamin Ryan Tyrrell, John Monroe Barry III, and Lance Meliota. Produced by Rec Hall, Charlie Park, and Nicolas Zagorin.
The band frontman John Barry said of the song, “'Olive' is about unrequited love and how keeping low expectations is sometimes for the best. Falling in love with someone who isn’t in a position to love you back is a devastating yet powerful feeling.”- The band shared on social media, “This song is about falling in love with a person who can't love you back. This next sentence is here to increase the amount of time spent watching; a devious but ingenious attempt at increasing viewer retention... so thank you for being here hope you enjoy the song.”
