  • Sleek Teeth Releases Self-Titled Debut EP

  • Los Angeles-based electropop duo Sleek Teeth released their self-titled debut EP on October 4, 2024.

The EP comprises 5 songs, written and produced by Sleek Teeth.
Blending elements of darkwave, electro-pop and EBM, the songs explore depths of isolation, dissociation, and the struggle to make sense of the senseless.

The duo said of the EP, “It wasn't a conscious decision, but there are threads of undefined surroundings and unknown destinations woven throughout the EP. There's a sense of mystery, like not knowing what's out there in the dark, but if you want to move forward you have to make that leap and deal with whatever comes. The songs aren't so much an attempt to come up with answers as they are a raw expression of the struggle itself, and we think there's a kind of resolution to be found in that.”
  • The duo told LUNA about the EP, “The themes emerged pretty naturally as a product of just letting ourselves be free in the creative process. These concepts sort of revealed themselves to us. It's clearly something that was resonating in us, the idea of not knowing what's around the corner, and wondering if you're on the right path and how to move forward.”

  • The duo explained about some tracks for the EP.

    “Operating”
“It's hardly a paranoid concept to believe that there are unseen forces perpetually at work in our world. We're not talking reptilian humanoids pulling the strings from the shadows, but things that are far less fantastic (and potentially just as menacing). Transparency rarely benefits those who would seek to manipulate others for their own gain, so it's good to remember that what you see isn't always what you get.”

    “Endless”
Josh of the band shares, “One minute you're in a place that feels familiar, and suddenly things take an unexpected turn, and everything is thrown into chaos. You can walk backwards through all the steps looking for warning signs that you might have missed, but there are just some things you never could have seen coming. Sometimes you have to embrace uncertainty to move forward.”

    “Gone”
“Gone is an awakening of sorts, a shift in consciousness that hits like a fever dream. There's no promise of some enlightening revelation to come, and it's that terrifying feeling of losing your grip on reality where real transformation can take place.”
