Ella Henderson Releases New Song “Filthy Rich”
London-based singer-songwriter Ella Henderson released a new song “Filthy Rich” on October 4, 2024.
The song is the first single off of her upcoming third studio album, which still doesn’t have a set release date.
The track was written by Ella Henderson, Maegan Cottone, and Nicolas Rebscher. Produced by Nicolas Rebscher and Sean Cook.
The accompanying music video filmed by Ella Henderson, Luke O'Sullivan, and Romarni Brytz.
Ella Henderson said of the song, “I've cried so many happy tears making this song. Filthy Rich is about everyone in my life who has been there for me through the lowest lows & the highest highs. From my family and friends to my supporters who always remind me why I do what I do... This song is my thank you & ode to YOU! It's my reminder to myself that, no matter what life has in store, I have everyone I need to get me through the good and the bad. This song feels like home to me & I only hope that it can become the same for you.”- The new album is the follow-up to the 2022 sophomore album “Everything I Didn't Say” and will be released via Major Tom's and Asylum Records.
Ella Henderson explained, “Some of you might know me. You might remember me from a little show called X Factor, brutally getting eliminated. I released a little song called Ghost. Then my whole label was restructured, and I actually parted ways with my record label at the time. It was my first experience really of anxiety and kind of where, I'd say I had a lot of mental health challenges, and I think it was important for me to begin working through that.”
She continued, “This is where I met the most incredible boys, the Rudimental lads. They signed me under their label that I wrote and recorded my second album, which featured Let's Go Home Together. I felt as I went from being stood behind a mic stand all of a sudden throwing my heels to one side, putting on a pair of trainers, and just feeling wild and free on stage. That's how I really fell in love with dance music. I think for a while I have probably been sat behind the facade of being a part of other people's projects.” -
She added, “Now is the time where I'm ready to share this next project of music that I've been working on for some time. Just coming from a place of writing a song, and it's not about the production. The first single of the project is called Filthy Rich. This song is all about my values and everything and everyone that means the most to me. I think half the time, you know, it's you guys that have spurred me on to keep going when I've wanted to give up. This is my truth, and I'm ready to share that.
