Ela Minus Announces New Album “DIA”, Shares New Song “BROKEN”
Brooklyn-based Colombian singer-songwriter Ela Minus has announced her upcoming sophomore album “DIA” will be released on January 17, 2025 via via Domino Records.
The album is her first LP in four years since the 2020 debut album acts of “rebellion” and comprises 10 songs.
She explained that the album opening track “ABRIR MONTE” is as a kind of summation of her intention for the album.
Ela Minus said, “'ABRIR MONTE' is a phrase commonly used where I'm from, referring to the act of opening paths through dense foliage. I've always loved the poetry of it. That is what making this record felt like, opening new paths inward and outward, continuing to delve further through unexplored territory.”
From the album, she unveiled the second single called “BROKEN” on October 2, 2024, following “COMBAT”.
The track was written by Ela Minus and Katie O'Neill. Produced by Ela Minus.
The accompanying music video was directed by Ela Minus and Losmose.
She said of the song, “I started writing this thinking I was perfectly fine and finished writing knowing I was not.”- Previous song COMBAT”
