Henry Moodie Releases New EP “good old days”
British singer-songwriter Henry Moodie released his sophomore EP “good old days” on September 27, 2024.
The EP follows up the debut EP “in all of my lonely nights”, which was released back in January.
The EP comprises 6 songs, produced by Aldae, Andrew Wells, Dino Medanhodzic, Freedo, Jacob Manson, The Nocturns, Sarcastic Sounds, Stavros and Tyler Spry.
Henry Moodie said of the EP, “'good old days' is an EP about navigating growing up. From songs about mental health, friendship, childhood, first love and first heartbreak. This EP captures what my late teens felt like.”
He added, “The happiest and saddest songs I've ever written are on there.”- Henry Moodie explained about some tracks for the EP.

“Right person, wrong time is about looking back at a previous relationship that ended - or situationship, actually, it wasn't even a relationship - and sort of feeling like maybe it could have ended up being way bigger than it should have been. It could have actually been the love of your life if it was at the right time... So, it's like, I guess, yearning about a previous relationship – being like, 'Maybe this could have been something, I don't know, and still not fully over your ex.” -

“I was in New York when I wrote 'beat up car.' There’s something about the city that feels like a main character, especially as a British person. We grew up with American media, and New York is always this place that we dream of going to. It was such a cool experience, and I felt like I was in that mindset when I got into the session for “beat up car.” I wanted to write a song that felt like its own main character.
As for the inspiration, I live in a small town in the U.K., so there’s not really much to do. We always get in one of our cars, which are all beaten up because we’re all terrible drivers. We sit there for ages and chat because that’s all we can do since there aren’t any bars nearby. I love doing that with my friends, but I wanted to imagine what it would be like to be in a relationship that felt the same way that I feel with my friends. So, I was fantasizing about a dream relationship when I was writing it.”
“bad emotions”
“'bad emotions' is a song about my journey with my mental health. I remember the day I went to the studio and I was planning to write a different song about my friend, but on the train journey up there I had a panic attack. Songwriting has always been a form of therapy for me and I knew that if I went into the studio that day talking about my mental health, I would feel better when I left.
