Laurel Smith Releases New Song “wolf”
London-based singer-songwriter Laurel Smith released a new song “wolf” along with a music video on September 26, 2024.
The song is the follow-up to “the red pill”, which was released back in January.
The track is rooted in escapism and ultimately centring on her own self-identification, and is a freeing experimentation in sound and ethos.
Laurel Smith co-wrote and co-produced the song with Jules Konieczny.
The accompanying video was directed by Matilda Harding Kemp.
Laurel Smith said of the song, “I think in a lot of situations we can give too much of ourselves to others and in doing so allow them complete control over us. Your thoughts and the choices you make no longer feel like your own, to the point where you completely lose your sense of self. 'wolf' is a song about freedom and independence, to have the space inside yourself to grow and not let anyone else take that up. Protect your flame at all costs, or you will find yourself at the mercy of the wolves in this world.”- North-London 22 year old Laurel Smith released her debut EP “TRASHSTARWRLD” in 2023
