The Weeknd Teams Up with Playboi Carti for New Song “Timeless”
Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd teamed up with American rapper Playboi Carti to release a new song “Timeless” on September 27, 2024.
This marks the second time The Weeknd and Playboi Carti have worked together since the 2023 “Popular” with American singer-songwriter Madonna.
He first performed the song at The Weeknd’s one-night-only concert in São Paulo, Brazil, earlier in September.
The song is the second single off of his upcoming sixth studio album “Hurry Up Tomorrow”, following “Dancing In The Flames”.
The track was written by Abel Tesfaye, BBYKOBE, Blessed, Jarrod 'Twisco' Morgan, Jordan Terrell Carter, Lawson, Mark Williams, MIKE DEAN, Pharrell Williams, Raul Cubina, and Tariq 'BL$$D' Sharrieff.
American singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams produced the track alongside Ojivolta, MIKE DEAN, and Twisco.- The new album is the final part of an album trilogy, following the 2020 album “After Hours” and the 2022 album “Dawn FM”.
Also, it would be his final under the moniker, The Weeknd.
The Weeknd shared on social media about the album, “Yesterday was fourteen years ago... we held our breath falling into a shimmering sea in the after hours of the night. Attempted to cleanse the wounds with melodies and lights, a bulletproof bandage to shield what lies beneath. In a place where the seasons never changed, where time ceased to exist.
