  • flipturn Announces New Album “Burnout Days”, Shares New Song “Rodeo Clown”

  • American indie rock band flipturn, consisting of Dillon Basse (vocals/guitar), Tristan Duncan (guitar), Madeline Jarman (bass), Mitch Fountain (guitar) and Devon VonBalson (drums), has announced their sophomore album “Burnout Days” will be released on January 24, 2025 via Dualtone Records.

It is their first album in three years since the 2022 debut album “Shadowglow”.
The album comprises 12 songs, which the band recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios near El Paso, Texas and produced by Chad Copelin.
The album is inspired by their journey on the road, as they sort through challenges like self-esteem, codependency, addiction and the twists and turns of day-to-day life in one's mid-twenties.
From the album, the band released a new song “Rodeo Clown” on September 26, 2024.
  • The song is an alt-pop track dedicated to the lure of escapism as a way to wrestle with the weight of mounting expectations.
The track was written by Devon VonBalson, Dillon Basse, Madeline Jarman, Mitchell Fountain, and Tristan Duncan. Produced by Chad Copelin.

The band lead singer Dillon Basse said of the song, “It's a song about coping with stress through a vice as a way to escape a reality I didn't want to be in at the time. Contrary to 'the man in the arena,' the rodeo clown in the ring distracts and puts on a show for those around him.”
