The Weeknd Releases New Song “Dancing In The Flames”
Earlier this month, Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd announced his up coming sixth studio album “Hurry Up Tomorrow”.
But it doesn't have a confirmed release date yet.
The album is the final part of an album trilogy, following the 2020 album “After Hours” and the 2022 album “Dawn FM”.
Also, it would be his final under the moniker, The Weeknd.
The Weeknd shared on social media, “More songs could help, but what do I have left to say? Woe is me in my gilded cage, right? The very thing that once made me invincible failed me on the world stage. A new trauma surfaced, opening floodgates. A new path awaits. When today ends, I'll discover who I am.”
From the album, he unveiled a new song “Dancing In The Flames” along with a music video on September 13, 2024.
He first performed the song during his “One Night Only” performance in São Paulo, Brazil, this past Saturday.
The track was and produced by The Weeknd, Max Martin, and Oscar Holter.
The accompanying video was directed by Anton Tammi and director of photography Erik Henrikkson, who filmed it with the new iPhone 16 Pro.- Erik Henrikkson said of the video, “Using iPhone 16 Pro is starting to erase the line between what's considered a 'professional camera' and what's not. And I think this is really really going to help young filmmakers coming up. I was very impressed with how iPhone 16 was able to pick up the strong highlights, the deep blacks, because we were shooting with very bright HDMI backlights hitting the rain and that was something I was worried about. 'How will the iPhone pick these lights up, how will the contrast be managed, how will this look on the Weeknd's face?' And when I saw the results, I was blown away to be honest.”
