2024 MTV Video Music Awards Winners List & Performance Highlights: Lisa, Sabrina Carpenter, Shawn Mendes, Katy Perry & More
The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards took place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on September 11, 2024.
The ceremony was originally scheduled to take place on September 10, 2024, but was rescheduled to a day later to avoid conflicts with the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
Taylor Swift was the most nominated and awarded artist winning seven trophies out of 12 nominations, including 5 wins, Video of the Year, Song of Summer, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, and Best Editing, out of nine nominations for “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone, as well as Artist of the Year and Best Pop.
She has now won Video of the Year a record five times. She also holds the record most career victories: 30.
Taylor Swift took a moment to acknowledge the September 11 attacks of 2001 during her acceptance speech, “Everyone who lost a loved one and everyone that we lost, and that is the most important thing about today and everything that happens tonight falls behind that. But it is so amazing to have the opportunity to thank and honor the people who worked so hard with me on this video.”- 2024 MTV Video Music Awards Winners List
