  • Suki Waterhouse Premieres New Song “Model, Actress, Whatever” on BBC Radio 1

  • British singer-songwriter Suki Waterhouse premiered a new song “Model, Actress, Whatever” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

The song is the 7th and final pre-release from her upcoming sophomore album “Memoir of a Sparklemuffin”, which will be released this Friday (September 13) via Sub Pop Records.
The track was written by Alexis Idarose Kesselman, EJ Saftner, Suki Waterhouse, and homas John Michel. Produced by Eli Hirsch and Hazey Eyes.
The accompanying music video was directed by Tyler Falbo.

Suki Waterhouse told Jack Saunders about the song, “It's dramatic. I'm like, absolutely, this one is like, probably my favorite song on the record. I guess in a lot of ways, I feel like, I kind of like, started not making music, but I really put it out and went for it, like a lot later into my life, like at the grand old age of about 30, which is kind of and I guess it was like that reminder to myself that you can kind of like, change paths. It's never too late, and it's like, been incredible. But the song originated from, it's kind of like a song about being delusional. And it was, I read this thing for my diary, or it was like a letter that I'd written to a boy, a long time ago when I was like, 12 or something, and I was explaining, my summer and I was doing this and this, and model and acting and like, but it was so delusional. And then, I looked back at it, years and years later, and I was like, that's kind of sweet. And sometimes being delusional is a good thing.”
  • The new album is her first body of work in two years since the 2022 debut album “I Can't Let Go” and comprises a 18-track.

Suki Waterhouse said of the album, “It's been unbelievable. I kind of didn't really even know that I was going to make a second record, so I went full then with this one, and I just loved, I loved all of it.”

She continued, “I think best memories probably recording 'Legendary' in my front room, like the sun shining through. I was like nine months pregnant. I had all these musicians in my living room. That was a really beautiful moment.”

  • She shared about the video on social media, “The role of a lifetime. 15 years of deep character work. Embracing the void. Cross-continental residential immersion. Training with a sixteenth century cutler. Undergoing a cataclysmic metamorphosis. All for the sake of....her.”
