Linkin Park Announces New Album “From Zero”, Shares New Song “The Emptiness Machine”
American rock band Linkin Park, consisting of Mike Shinoda (vocals/keyboards), Brad Delson (lead guitar), Joe Hahn (synthesizers), Dave Farrell (bass), Emily Armstrong (lead vocals) and Colin Brittain (drums), has announced their eighth studio album “From Zero” will be released on November 15, 2024 via Warner Records and Machine Shop.
Also, the announcement added that Emily Armstrong, who is lead vocals of Dead Sara, will be the band's new lead vocalist and Colin Brittain will join in as the new drummer.
The new album is their first body of work in seven years since the 2017 album “One More Light”, which featured the late Chester Bennington as lead vocals, and comprises a 11-track.
From the album, the band unveiled a new song “The Emptiness Machine” on September 5, 2024.
The track was written by Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Joe Hahn, Dave Farrell, Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain. Produced by Mike Shinoda.
The accompanying music video was directed by Joe Hahn.- Mike Shinoda said of the album. “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we're currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future — embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”
He continued, “The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we've made together. We're weaving together the sonic touchpoints we've been known for and still exploring new ones.” - The band new vocalist Emily Armstrong said, “When I first listened to Linkin Park, Hybrid Theory was my favorite album, and I was starting bands at the time. I was in a band, and that was the moment where I was like, I want to sing and scream One Step Closer.”
She continued, “I was like, I could do that. And at the time, I wasn't even a good singer. I was a guitar player, and I just loved being in a band and I was [still] like, 'I could do that.' So of course, it gets to this point and just being like, this is crazy. So there's definitely that, and obviously, in the side of the feelings and the emotions of it, I would love to do him proud.”
