Sarina Releases New Song “Skip A Beat”
Tokyo-based punk-pop singer-songwriter Sarina released her brand new single called “Skip A Beat” on September 6, 2024.
The song is the follow-up to “Living in the Moment”, which was released back in July.
The single includes a Japanese version of the song.
The song is about ascending above a breakup and accepting that they are not the one.
The track was written by Sarina, and produced by Adam Nielsen and Yuya Saito.
“‘Skip A Beat’ is a fun, playful breakup anthem with a driving beat and catchy throwback sound with some 'stick it to ‘em' energy,” Sarina said of the song. “I originally wrote it in Japanese and then decided to arrange and adapt the song in English, changing the words to represent the perspective of someone recently single who recognizes their self-worth.”- Sarina was born in Hawaii in 2002 to a Japanese father and Lebanese mother. While studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, she was chosen to star in a campus production of "Chicago”. She also studied theatre at UCLA.
Her music delves into themes of mental health and personal struggle, crafting a sound that is both relatable and emotionally resonant.
She debuted with “Identity” under the Sony RED label in 2022. Followed by, the debut EP Foreword was released in August 2023. - source : Apple Music
