Manic Street Preachers Premieres New Song “Decline & Fall” on BBC Radio 6
Welsh rock band Manic Street Preachers, consisting of James Dean Bradfield (vocals/guitar), Sean Moore (drums) and Nicky Wire (vocals/bass), is back.
The band premiered a new song “Decline & Fall” on BBC Radio 6 Music.
The song is their first music in three years since the 2021 album “The Ultra Vivid Lament”, and is the first single off of their upcoming fifteenth studio album, which is expected to be released in 2025.
The band recorded the song at their Door To The River studio in Newport and Rockfield Studios in Monmouth.
The track was written by Christopher Henry Difford, Glenn Martin Tilbrook, James Dean Bradfield, Nick Jones, and Sean Moore. Produced by Dave Eringa and Loz Williams.
The band said of the song, “Musically with 'Decline & Fall' we tried to create forward motion - a song which harnesses the past to propel it into the future - the lyric is one of realisation and understanding - of celebrating the tiny miracles that still exist whilst accepting and embracing managed decline”.- The band bassist Nicky Wire told Louder Sound about the new album in an interview, “It has a lot of energy, even though I don’t feel particularly energised. One of the songs is like a mixture of The Cardigans and The Skids, who are two of our favourite bands, and another sounds like ‘Come Up And See Me’ [by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel] played by Dinosaur Jr.”
