Nilüfer Yanya Premieres New Song “Made Out Of Memory” on BBC Radio 1
London-based singer-songwriter Nilüfer Yanya premiered a new song “Made Out Of Memory” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is the fourth single off of her upcoming third studio album “My Method Actor”, which is set to be released on September 13, 2024.
Nilüfer Yanya wrote the song with producer Will Archer.
Nilüfer Yanya told Jack Saunders about the song, “The song, like the idea for the lyrics is about everyone's being made up of memories of other people. And that's like, kind of what makes us human and makes us us.”
She added, “I think when it comes to writing, you have to, like dig a bit deep, but you don't really know, like I can't really premeditate what something is gonna be about, so just reveals itself later.”- The new album comprises a 11-track, produced by Will Archer. She recorded the album in London, Eastbourne, and Wales.
It is the first album in two years since the 2022 album “Painless” and is the first release under her new label Ninja Tune..
Nilüfer Yanya said of the album, “I think I'm trying to understand who I am. And method acting the theory behind it is that you're not acting. I don't have like, alter ego when I go on stage or when I sing these songs. So it's like, how to be more of myself.” -
