  • Kobra Paige Releases Debut Album “Like No Other”

  • Canadian singer-songwriter Kobra Paige released her highly-anticipated debut album “Like No Other” on August 30, 2024 via Pasadena Records.

The album comprises a 14-track, produced by Brian Howes and Chris Gehringer.
Through song and deliberate visuals, this body of work aims to encourage self-liberation without abandoning the world.

“This record and body of art have been a deep process of self-reckoning, healing, and redefining my identity within the world. I have taken another step closer toward alignment and who I came here to be. Life is short, too short to not daringly create and bring forward what is inside of you. My wish for everyone is to courageously self-express and not pay mind to the boxes society may have placed you in.”
  • She continued, “The most valuable part of this creative experience for me has been learning that: no matter the outcome, no matter how difficult the journey is, there will be no reward higher than being authentically 'you'. That is the place of true empowerment. You decide what you're living for and you are ALWAYS the gift.”

She added, “With that, I just want to say my biggest thank you to everyone who has chosen to support and cheer me on throughout this journey. I passionately and humbly recognize that my life and what I create, are the great summation of creative collaboration. I Am Like No Other.”

  • Kobra Paige explained about some tracks for the album.

    “Under One Sun”
“This song is incredibly symbolic for me as it was the very first one ever written for this album. Co-written on an acoustic in Nashville alongside producer Nick Raskulinecz, the song was formally recorded and produced by Brian Howes. Brian played all the various guitar layers and together with engineer Karl Dicaire, we elevated it to the global sound the messaging called for. 'UOS' speaks to our resilience and capacity to heal as human beings. It serves as a reminder that we can heal enough to coexist with the things in life that wound us the most. I hope this song and video bring grace into your darkest crevices of pain, grief, traumas and suffering you have endured.”

    “Love What I Hate”
“'Love What I Hate' has been waiting to live its life for a very long time and I'm so freakin' lit up that its time to shine has finally come. This song was written in Nashville with Blair Daly, an amazing songwriter and now longtime friend. I needed to write about feeling completely consumed and addicted to the thought of not being enough...the deep shame that comes from not knowing how to pull yourself out of that spell…self-sabotage at its finest! Blair pulled that ghost right out of me like a flippin' ghostbuster and we got it on to paper. 'Love What I Hate' is about the paradox of love and hate and the (super) raw obsession that can unfold with the things that hurt us the most. Long live rock n' roll!"”

    “HOTT.”
“I have been waiting to light a fire under some asses with this song for two years. 'HOTT.' is about navigating our sense of self-worth in an extraordinarily convoluted era of social media domination. The lines are getting blurred and we don't have the mental hardware to separate reality from distortion. Crippling anxiety, increasing levels of low self-esteem, next-level bullying, body dysmorphia, compare and despair culture, amplified narcissistic behaviors, and competition for validation…..these are all parts of human nature but not the parts that were ever meant to be the loudest. Now we let those dark, subconscious beliefs run rampant and dictate who we are and the love/goodness we are worthy of receiving.
I am personally still working on figuring out how to engage in social media in a healthy way and not let it disempower me or challenge my sense of self. It's been a sick, rocky road and possibly the hardest mental hurdle as an introverted music artist. Time for change, time to shake this shit up, and time to have more conversations about it. Let's re-anchor in our own authentic truth. I invite you to come with me, in my new music video for 'HOTT.', as I check myself into 'Dr. Worthlove's Center for Self-Confidence', a medical clinic that is truly one of a kind. Dr. Worthlove said he could fix me and make me lovable from the outside in but turns out that isn't how self-worth works!!”

    “Like No Other”
“This song is the heartbeat of the album and the distillation of what, I believe to be, life's journey. If I were to share my essence and experience of what I know about being human, in one song, this would be it. LNO speaks to the recognition of our mind, body, and spirit as the one 'home' we truly have in this lifetime. We are its sacred keeper and there's no limit to the number of times we can rebuild or change its path.
As we move through this song, you will hear a sonic blend of worldly drums and Indian Sitar blended with the cozy Dobro and various acoustic and electric guitar layers. This is to express the beautiful paradox of our individuality in this world while simultaneously being plugged into the tapestry of a collective. The vocals are confident yet bare to the rawness of how lonely life can still feel, despite being surrounded by so many others. The ebb and flow of forward then backward motion, we experience all the time, is expressed and celebrated for the strength it takes to keep going through the adversities we face. In the pre-chorus, we have Fleetwood Mac-esque vocal layers, some company for a weary soul. Finally, the chorus holds the wisdom and the key. I speak of the very ancient wisdom of water and use its powerful metaphor as a beacon of remembrance to everyone. One of the most difficult parts of this life- journey is to surrender and cease resisting that which we can't control. To flow like water is a great aspiration as it patiently shapes things over time, does not force itself, and yet moves powerfully when needed. Finally, a gift for us all. An important affirmation deeply rooted in 'enoughness' and truth. 'I Am Like No Other'. You are the only one keeping you from yourself.”

    “Thank You”
“'Thank You' came from something bigger than me and it belongs to the world. That's what you will hear in the song and that is what you will witness in the music video. To feel seen for who we are is a human necessity and that is why the smallest acts of kindness can go a really long way. We impact each other, more than we realize, every single day. I have hit rock bottom with my mental health more than once and it was during those moments of quiet, loving support that I was able to hold on and not lose the battle. I can attest to how someone's kind action can change or save a life. I've chosen to release this song now because this time of year can be difficult for many and I hope this will serve as a guiding light through the darkest hours. Our world is in a state of desperate need for connection and with billions of people, we can still feel very alone. This is not a seasonal song but it is a hope-filled and deeply human, honest song.”

    “Dreamer”
“This song speaks to our inner child, beckoning us to remember and nurture our creative natures. Everything in this world exists because of curious, creative impulses brought forward into reality. Unfortunately, there's a looming stigma that creeps in at a fairly young age that can wound and discourage that creative playfulness. Perfectionism, practicality, fear of failure or embarrassment, vulnerability, self-doubts…we get scared. I believe any effort, small or large, toward recovery of our creative essence, is a big key to individual and collective healing. It's a path back to our truest self. It doesn't mean we have to become an artist, it just means we're going to let ourselves dream a little. Even amongst the darkest hour of the soul, there is an ember to be found.”

    “Freedom”
“This song has got a chorus as cozy as a campfire, but a conviction fierce enough to knock a person back into their truth. 'Freedom' is about self-liberation from fear, reclaiming yourself as the advocate of your own life, and dismantling your shame cycles so you may set yourself free. This isn't just a song – it's a declaration and an invitation to no longer treat yourself like an apology.”
