James Bay Releases New Song “Easy Distraction” Co-Written by The Killers' Brandon Flowers
British singer-songwriter and guitarist James Bay released his brand new song called “Easy Distraction” co-written by American rock band The Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers on August 30, 2024.
Produced by Gabe Simon and James Bay.
The song is the second single off of his upcoming fourth studio album “Changes All The Time”, which is set to be released on October 4, 2024.
James Bay said of the song, “The song is about realising too late that someone means so much to you, but you still want to show them and let them know. It's exploring how, in the face of adversity we can still reach out, we can still connect.”
He continued, “I found out from a mutual friend that Brandon was interested in writing with newer artists, so I jumped at the chance and went to work with him in Park City, Utah over in America. It was an unbelievable experience and insight into writing with one of my heroes. I hope we get to do more!”- The new album comprises a 11-track, featuring guest appearances from American alt-folk band The Lumineers and American singer-songwriter Noah Kahan, co-produced by Gabe Simon and James Bay.
It is his first album in two years since the 2022 album “Leap”.
James Bay said of the album, “Making this album felt like my first taste of true musical freedom. With the help of my co-producer, Gabe Simon, I found the courage to make what I wanted to make in ways I never have before.
