Canadian singer-songwriter margø released a new song “love me ugly” along with a music video on August 30, 2024.
The song is taken from her upcoming debut album “who are you when you're alone?”, which is set to be released on Ootober 11, 2024.
She recorded the track across Los Angeles and Edmonton.
The track was written by Cassidy Margolis, Maria Landi, Nathaniel Clay, and Nicole Timm. Produced by Nathaniel Clay.
The accompanying video was directed by Tatiana Zagorac.
The track tells the tale of embracing one's true authenticity and snarls at an ex who wanted her to conform to their idealistic vision of conditional love, serving as a statement against toxic partners who dim others' lights due to their own insecurities.- margø said of the song, “'love me ugly' is a haunting take on the concept of 'conditional love'. It dissects the feeling of being pressured to change by toxic relationships in order to fit their ideals, instead of receiving the acceptance and celebration of individuality that you deserve.
