ionnalee Releases New Song “luminary rainbows”
Swedish singer-songwriter ionnalee will release her upcoming album “BLUND” (English title “CLOSE YOUR EYES”) on September 13, 2024 via her own label To whom it may concern.
From the album, she released the fourth single called “luminary rainbows” on August 22, 2024.
The song also features the Swedish version “ur en klardröm”.
The track was written by Claes Björklund and Jonna Lee.
The accompanying music video was directed by ionnalee and John Strandh.
ionnalee said of the song, “'luminary rainbows' + 'ur en klardröm' ia a story about how we seem to gravitate towards illusory visions, dreams, hopes, or aims in life that we know are not real but they seem to be. even though these hopes often leave you broken hearted, empty and sad, they still give so much life in the chasing that we need them to thrive.”- The new album is her first solo project in five years since the 2019 album “REMEMBER THE FUTURE” and comprises a 11-track.
Also, the album follows up the 2022 collaborative album “Be Here Soon” with iamamiwhoami.
ionnalee said of the album, “This album is about how to dream in a dark time and how to be someone like me, an artist who feeds off of that ability for a living. How to feel hopefulness, euphoria, sorrow or even anything at all in a time where the world seems less and less connected to other humans, to nature and to our future. How I find that music, after working as an artist for 20 years, still is a core element in my life that drives me forward. How crooked the view is of music's value when it's soundtracking our daily lives and can get us through the toughest of times.” -
She continued, “The albums were made through 2023 which was a heavy year personally. People that I love have suffered, life has been really serious midst hard work and little rest. I spent a lot of time alone with my child during periods, so all awake vacant hours during the nights became a time for writing, recording and dreaming away as my baby was sleeping. I really needed to get back to feeling whatever the incredible feeling I get when music is fun to make and listen to. And I did.”
