Oliver Cronin Announces New EP “Halfway To Paradise”, Shares New Song “Girl Next Door” with Charley
Australian singer-songwriter Oliver Cronin has announced his upcoming EP “Halfway To Paradise” will be released on October 3, 2024 via Warner Music Australia.
It is his first project in two years since the 2022 debut EP “Beautiful Nightmare”.
Also, the EP will appear on his upcoming debut album “Paradise”.
The EP comprises a 7-track, featuring collaborations with SAHXL, Lola Amour, and Charley.
Oliver Cronin said of the EP, “My life has changed in so many ways and I've grown a lot as an artist and a person since 'Beautiful Nightmare' and I think this EP is a reflection of that.”
He shared on social media, “2 years ago I started working on my debut album 'paradise'... as i got further into the process I realised how far away from 'paradise' I actually am, and its a little scary. life has changed a lot over the past 24 months and I've had a real up and down relationship with music during the process. All I want to do is create and share it with the world. So thats what imma do. I don't know what 'paradise' looks like and if it even exists but we're on the way and I guess we're gonna find out.”- From the EP, he released the fourth single called “Girl Next Door” on August 29, 2024.
This time, he teamed up with Sydney-based pop singer-songwriter Charley on the track.
The track was written by Claire Howell, Daniel Cashear, Joshua Bishop, and Oliver Cronin. Produced by COBRA and Daniel Cashear.
The accompanying music video was directed by Kyle Caulfield.
Oliver Cronin said of the song, “I've been wanting to work with Charley on a track for years and when I finished the verse I knew I had to hit her up to jump on. I found it really cool to show a love triangle with a twist, and when she sent me back her verse I knew it would take the track to the next level. The music video was so much fun, and working with Kyle was a breeze.” -
Charley said, “Oliver sent me this song a couple months ago and asked me to put a verse on it if I liked it. Turns out I loved it, and we wrote the rest of the song together and made it about wanting the same girl! I love how much of a duet it is, especially when the bridge hits.”
She continued, “And side note, I have loved working with Oliver so much, he's such a goofy lil superstar and it's rare to find people that lift you up as a human and match your fun side which is so important when making music. Have to remember it's a fun process instead of being too serious about it.”
