NOANNE Releases New Song “Everything I Hate About You”
Prague-based singer-songwriter NOANNE released the fifth single called “Everything I Hate About You” on August 23, 2024.
The high-octane R&R song tells the darkly humorous and gripping tale of a woman who has taken drastic measures against a deceitful lover.
NOANNE co-wrote the song with producer Gregory Darling. Also, Gregory Darling's son Harrison played piano on the track.
NOANNE said of the song, “I wanted to create a track that not only captured the visceral energy of rock 'n' roll but also conveyed a deep, emotional narrative and reflect the intense feelings I was experiencing at the time of writing the single—anger, frustration, and a touch of ironic humor. The result is a track that is raw and dynamic, yet filled with lyrical depth. It's a sonic journey that mirrors the tumultuous relationship described in the song, taking listeners from the peak of rage to the depths of introspection. This blend of high-energy rock with thoughtful storytelling is something I hope resonates deeply with my audience.”- The accompanying music video was directed by Steen Agro, who takes inspiration from classic dark comedies and psychological thrillers.
She said of the video, “Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" and the Coen Brothers' "Fargo" provided rich visual and emotional contexts that permeated the song's lyrics and overall mood. The intense psychological exploration and masterful building of suspense in these films helped shape the thematic development of "Everything I Hate About You." This blend of deeply evocative music and psychologically intense cinema created a fertile ground for my creativity, allowing me to craft a song that is both hypnotic and unsettlingly beautiful.” -
