Beth McKenzie Releases New Song “She's Finally Lost It!”
Manchester-based singer-songwriter Beth McKenzie released a new song “She's Finally Lost It!” on August 23, 2024.
The song will appear on her upcoming debut 5-track EP, which is expected to be released later this year.
The track details a harrowing story of power abuse within the music industry.
She co-wrote the song with producer Andy Gannon.
Beth McKenzie said of the song, “This song is so important to me! I wrote this about my experience of power abuse in the music industry. During this time, I felt like I was completely losing my sanity. nothing felt real and nothing made sense. I was telling Andy Gannon about how I wanted to write about it and we decided to lean into the feeling of complete lunacy - there’s something so freeing about being able to have such fun creating a song about something so dark.”- She continued, “The lyrics came easily but, at first, musically the song was very dark and sombre, and it just didn’t work. My producer and I decided on a radical change and created an upbeat, edgy sound that captures the sheer insanity of the whole situation.”
