  • Go Betty Go Announces New EP “Black & Blue”, Shares New Song “Party At Sea”

  • Los Angeles-based indie rock band Go Betty Go, consisting of Betty Cisneros (guitar), Nicolette Vilar (vocals), Michelle Rangel (bass) and Aixa Vilar (drums), has announced their new EP “Black & Blue” will be released on September 13, 2024 via Wiretap Records.

The new EP is their first project in nine years since the 2015 EP “Reboot”.
The EP comprises a 6-track, including two newly recorded live-show fan favorites from early in the band’s career, “City Lights” and “Am I To Blame”, produced by Davey Warsop.

From the EP, the band released a new song “Party At Sea” on August 21, 2024.
The track was written by Go Betty Go, and produced by Davey Warsop.
The accompanying music video was directed by the band lead singer Nicolette Vilar.
  • The band drummer Aixa Vilar said of the song, “Dive into the world of ‘Party at Sea’, where our latest music video sets sail on a lavish, colorful cruise ship bound for adventure. Inspired by early 1900s Argentine craftsmanship and Victorian architecture, this visual feast channels the essence of Buenos Aires, a city where every detail-from ornate bus designs to Fileteado Porteño signage-is a celebration of artistic expression.”

She continued, “The song ‘Party at Sea’ invites you on a magical, adventurous voyage, beckoning you to leave the everyday world behind and embark on a journey aboard the grand ship Amazon. It’s a call to escape reality and embrace an extraordinary adventure.”.

  • Nicolette Vilar said of the EP, “Black & Blue is an EP that has been a long time in the making. We started working on these songs as soon as the pandemic broke out but had to pause like everyone else in the world at that time. As soon as it was clear to get back together and work in the studio, we received Betty’s Stage 4 cancer diagnosis in May 2022, which hit us all hard. But from that day forward, we decided we would stand strong and do everything in our power to help Betty fight and overcome cancer. It even sparked old ideas that we finally brought to the light of day. Two of the songs, 'City Lights' and 'Am I To Blame,' were written years ago when Emily Wynne-Hughes, aka Emily Valentine, was in the band. We have a two-decade-long history, but there was a moment when I quit the band, and Emily stepped in to take the reins. I’ve been back for many years, but this EP brought the band’s history full circle as we invited Emily to come back and rework some of those old original songs that had never been released.”

She continued, “We’re proud of the EP; it has a strong backbone full of grit and determination, reflecting the struggles we all went through as we wrote and recorded these songs. Black & Blue is a reference to the bruises life dealt us during these past difficult years. We heal from bruising, and even though it was challenging to make this EP, we overcame it.”
