  • Palomino Blond Announces New Album “You Feel It Too”, Shares New Song “Understand”

  • Miami-based rock band Palomino Blond, consisting of Carli Acosta (guitar/lead vocals), Emma Arevalo (drums) and Peter Allen (guitar), has announced their upcoming sophomore album “You Feel It Too” will be released on October 4, 2024 via Kanine Records.

This marks their first body of work in three years since the 2021 debut album “ontheinside”.
The album comprises a 11-track, produced by Palomino Blond along with engineering from Ryan Haft, Jonathan Nuñez and the band themselves, mastered by Dan Coutant.

The band lead singer Carli Acosta said of the album, “It's been two years since this band, really any music and a lot of things have changed, and I've been really nervous about this whole thing, announcing the album. And there's been so much like leading up to it, like it's been done for months. And for a while, I've been really frustrated and really nervous about like how's it going be received and so much has like changed for this band, like are people still going be into it. But I know that nervousness and excitement are really the same feeling and you have to have perspective on stuff.”

They continued, “And it took me a while to find perspective about everything, because for a while, we were going through this chapter that was really emotional, like stuff changing in our lives and in our band. And once I was able to like shift the perspective and like be excited rather than nervous or upset about the whole thing, I got to this point, and like I said, like the album's been done for months now and it's finally going to start rolling out. And just happy to be here.”
  • From the album, the band released a new song “Understand” on August 21, 2024.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Machine”, which was released last June.
It was written by Carli Marie Acosta, Michael Anthony Arevalo, Peter Allen. Produced by Palomino Blond.

Carli Acosta told Atwood Magazine about the song, “I wrote 'Understand' in one sitting while playing around with the guitar. I was trying to learn another band's song by ear, but just ended up messing around, then threw some effects on my guitar track and word-vomited the lyrics. I think it was Victor Wooten who said playing on your instrument can be just as important as practicing, and as a songwriter, it's way more freeing. So writing the verse, I was just playing and having fun. The rest of the song just came to life. I wasn't thinking, it just felt like the song was happening to me.”

  • They continued, “The lyrics were word vomit like I mentioned. I wrote it about a situation where I completely idealized another person, and she idealized me, and we never knew each other past these fabricated versions. It was a very surface-level, yet overwhelming and intoxicating relationship, for me. I think the lyrics are very in-your-face.”
