Gia Ford Releases New Song “Try Changing”
London-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Gia Ford released the sixth single called “Try Changing” from her upcoming debut album “Transparent Things” on August 20,2024.
The album is set to be released on September 1, 2024 via Chrysalis Records.
The song reflects on the desire for parental happiness and the paradox of receiving guidance from those who don't always follow their own advice.
The track was written by Anthony Edward Whiting, Conor Houston, Emily Phillips, and Molly Mccormick. Produced by Tony Berg.
The accompanying music video was directed by Melanie Lehman.
Gia Ford said of the song, “‘Try Changing’ is a song about wanting your parents to be happy. They can teach you how to love the world and have a good life, but then go against their own preachings. More broadly, the song is about how you end up sharing wisdom with older people in your life, and how we attempt to re-ground each other as we go along regardless of generation.”- The debut album comprises a 11-track, which she recorded at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles.
Gia Ford said of the album, “Most of the characters in these songs are outcasts. All with unique ways of feeling on the periphery, somehow. Thematically it has a mythical quality, stemming from the repeated references to creatures, ghosts and undefined spirits. It's a world of its own, where the characters have more in common than I initially thought was possible.” - source : Apple Music
