  • Lola Young Premieres New Song “Flicker of Light” on BBC Radio 1

  • British singer-songwriter Lola Young premiered a new song “Flicker of Light” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

The song is her first music since her latest album “This Wasn't Meant For You Anyway”, which was released back in June.
The track was written by Anya Jones, Conor Dickinson, Lola Young, and William Brown.
Produced by Solomonophonic, Carter Lang, and manuka.

Lola Young said of the song, “I wrote this song about realising there is hope, I have often felt like there isn’t but there is always a reason to keep going. That’s even when you don’t want to get out of bed, you do, and that is amazing and you’re still here and you’re still alive and if anything, thats something to be proud of.”
  • Lola Young told Jack Saunders about the song, “There is I mean obviously the verses are quite like, sad, but they're not like, sad in that melancholy, like, usually way that I do. They're just like, fun. It's a quirky song. I love it because it's gone through so many versions, and we finally found a version that I was really proud of. And it's just saying the obvious really. There's always morning after the night. There's always the next day. The next day will always come.”

  • She worked with American producer Solomonophonic on the track.
Lola Young said of working with Solomonophonic, “So Solomonophonic, I made this record with. He's just a wizard, like, he's so incredible, like doing everything and doing like nothing when there needs to be doing nothing. And he's very particular about what he what sounds he throws on what like synth moment he adds into it. He's very, very perceptive. I really appreciate that by him.”
