  • Adult Leisure Premieres New Song “Borderline” on BBC Music Introducing

  • Bristol-based alt-rock band Adult Leisure, consisting of Neil Scott (vocals), David Woolford (guitar), James Laing (bass) and Nathan Searle (drums), is back.

The band premiered a new song “Borderline” on BBC Music Introducing with James Threlfall
The song is their first music since the 2023 EP “Present State of Joy and Grief”.
Rhythmically and texturally, Borderline is a clear continuation of what they built with their previous EP, yet there’s an added sense of urgency bubbling throughout.
Sonically, Rich melodies, radiant synths and explosive drums come together with Neil Scott’s anguished vocals slicing.
Lyrically, the track explores the emotions that come after the end of a long-term relationship.
The track was written by David Woolford, James Laing, Nathan Searle, and Neil Scott. Produced by Ollie Searle.

The band said of the song, “Dave had sent through a Police-y style demo back last April (2023) and we knew we wanted this to be the next release after our second EP, it felt like a continuation of our sound.”
  • They continued, “Borderline was inspired by the break-up of a long term relationship around that time for Neil and the feeling of hindsight in the months following it. We always try to write from a personal perspective, however these feelings are so common amongst people that there’s a strange balance of the situation being incredibly personal yet not alone. We allowed ourselves more time in the recording process to try new things and develop our sound, and with thanks to our producer Ollie, we feel it’s sonically our best song to date.”
