  • HONNE Releases New Song “Say That You Will Wait For Me” featuring Liang Lawrence

  • London-based art-pop duo HONNE<, consisting of James Hatcher (producer) and Andy Clutterbuck (vocals/producer), teamed up with British singer-songwriter Liang Lawrence to release a new song “Say That You Will Wait For Me” on August 9, 2024.

This marks the first collaboration between HONNE and Liang Lawrence.

The duo shared, “When we first stumbled across Liang on Spotify we instantly fell in love with her voice. So we invited her to come to the studio for a coffee, asked her if she'd jump on this track, and the rest is history. Thank you Liang for helping us squeeze even more emotion out of this song. You're amazing.”

The song is the fifth and final single from their upcoming fourth studio album “OUCH”, which is set to be released on September 6, 2024.
The track lyrically deals with absence, and the duo refers to the song as Location Unknown Part 2.
The track was written and produced by HONNE.
  • The duo said of the song, “'Say That You Will Wait For Me' is a familiar subject matter for us. It's about going away and missing the heck out of someone. This song really touches a nerve however, as now I'm a parent, it's doubly hard to say goodbye and to leave. It's also heartbreaking to leave your kid behind as when you say goodbye you know they don't understand that you aren't coming home that evening. 'Say That You Will Wait For Me' is my way of saying please say you'll remember me when I get back from.”

  • The accompanying music video was filmed by HONNE.

The duo explained about the video, “We absolutely love this song. It kind of feels like the sequel to Location Unknown. The theme of long distance relationships still really touches a nerve. We quite often go away for work and when we do we miss the heck out of those we leave at home. It's always been hard saying goodbye but now I'm a dad it's doubly hard to go away and it's especially heartbreaking knowing my kids don't understand why I don't come home that evening. We filmed this video ourselves with Liang, at 4 in the morning in England. Trying to portray that feeling of wanting to get back to the person you love as soon as you can. Like this if you tried to wipe your screen during the video. Damn you rain on the lens!! haha”
