  • Clean Bandit Returns with New Song “Cry Baby” with Anne-Marie & David Guetta

  • British electronic music trio Clean Bandit, consisting of Grace Chatto (cello), Jack Patterson (keyboards) and Luke Patterson (drums), returned with a new song “Cry Baby” on August 9, 2024.

The song is their first proper single in two years and is the first release under their new label B1 Recordings.
This time, the trio teamed up with British singer-songwriter Anne-Marie and French DJ David Guetta on the track.
This marks the second collaboration between Clean Bandit and Anne-Marie, following the 2016 smash hit “Rockabye”.
The band keyboard player Jack Patterson co-wrote and co-produced with David Guetta for Jamaican rapper Sean Paul's 2018 “Mad Love”.
But three artists have worked together for the first time.
The track was written by Anne-Marie Nicholson, Camille Purcell, Jack Patterson, and Steve Mac four years ago. Produced by Clean Bandit.

The band cello player Grace Chatto said of the song, "It's hard to express in words how much Cry Baby means to me. It came out delicate, playful and soft, despite the song's deep pain. It still makes me cry sometimes when I listen to it, four years on from when we started it. I'm so grateful it is finally out in the world."
  • The accompanying music video was directed by Clean Bandit, featuring guest appearances from TikTok famous trainspotter Francis Bourgeois and Nigerian singer-songwriter Ruger.

Grace Chatto told Official Charts about the video, “We're making the music video ourselves [which we haven't done in a while], and it's just turned into this epic project. We built a train, an actual train, for the new video. Francis Bourgeois is in the video and we actually did consult him on, you know, the different models we could use and stuff.”

  • Jack Patterson said about working with David Guetta, “Anne-Marie actually introduced us. We sent him the track to see if he would vibe with it and he Zoom called us immediately. It was an amazing call, he was getting so excited about ideas. This was during the end of COVID times, so it was still all remote. We all wanted to release it immediately but...we didn't manage to.”
