  • Nina Nesbitt Releases New Song “Anger”

  • Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt released a new song “Anger” on August 9, 2024.

The song is the fifth single off of her upcoming fourth studio album “Mountain Music”, which is set to be released on September 27, 2024 via her own label Apple Tree Records.
The new album is her first body of work in two years, and is also the first release as an independent artist.
The album comprises a 12-track, produced by Nina Nesbitt and Peter Miles.
The track was written by Nina Nesbitt and Ollie Green.

Nina Nesbitt said of the song, “As someone who is naturally introverted and quiet, i've always found it hard to know how to express and articulate my emotions. Anger, for me, is the most difficult. I never really want to make a fuss or cause a scene. It's a feeling that lies dormant in me most of the time. But I think truthfully... these battles that we experience, that hurt us, change us, shape us, the emotions that we feel, they don't really go away until we face them. But the most difficult thing i've found is knowing how to face them. We're all so complex and unique. What works for one person might not work for another. Making this album and creating this song, Anger, made it so clear to me that writing is and has always been my vessel for expression and healing. It feels like such a cathartic experience to release this song into the world today. I hope anyone who's feeling similar can listen to this song, feel seen, heard and FREE.”
  • The accompanying music video was directed by Wolf James, who filmed in Northern Ireland.

Nina Nesbitt said of the video, “I absolutely loved shooting this up in Northern Ireland with my long time collaborator Wolf James. She also shot the Mountain Music album artwork. Some of the Anger music video shots were filmed at The actual Game Of Thrones wall. I was very star struck! Normally I have such a clear vision of how I want the music video to be for a song I've written but for Anger, it seemed like such a huge subject and I didn't quite know where to begin. I had some long chats with Wolf James when trying to decide on the creative and loved how she described female rage as a 'force of nature'. I think so often people associate male rage with destruction and violence but female rage, to me, feels like fuel to create. A lot of my favourite albums were created by female rage (see Jagged Little Pill). We wanted to capture the spirit of this in the Anger music video. Showing the brutally cutting results of nature, giant cliff edges, crashing waves, mixed with some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. That's how anger feels to me. I'm so proud of this video and we'd be very grateful to anyone who wants to take a few minutes out of their day to watch it.”
