Lunar Vacation Releases New Song “Tom”
Atlanta-based indie rock band Lunar Vacation, consisting of Gep Repasky (vocals/guitar), Maggie Geeslin (vocals/guitar), Matteo Delurgio (keyboard), Connor Dowd (drums) and Ben Wulkman (bass), released a new song “Tom” on August 7, 2024.
The song is the third single off of their upcoming sophomore album “Everything Matters, Everything's Fire”, which is set to be released on September 13, 2024 via Keeled Scales.
Also, the band teamed up with MLB Atlanta Braves to give their a 7-inch vinyl of the song at the team's game on August 7th.
Atlanta Braves pitcher Spencer Strider has chosen three of his favorite Atlanta bands (Lunar Vacation, Trash Panda, and Dinner Time) and gave away 5,000 vinyl records from each band to the first 15,000 fans attending the Atlanta Braves vs. Brewers game.
Spencer Strider said in a press release, “I remember exactly when and where I first heard Lunar Vacation - that's how immediately they became one of my favorite groups. When I learned they were from Atlanta, it exponentially increased the enjoyment I derive from their music. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have followed their maturation and growth from the beginning.”- The song is inspired by Tom Schwartz, aka Katie Maloney's ex-husband.
It was written by Ben Wulkan, Connor Dowd, Grace Repasky, Maggie Geeslin, and Matteo DeLurgio.
The accompanying animated music video was directed by John J. Andrews.
Gep Repasky said of the song, “After revisiting the song years later, I decided to make it less serious and revise some of the lyrics. It ended up being about unrequited 'love' between me and a coworker who I didn't know was gay.” -
