NIKI Releases New Song “Tsunami”
Indonesian singer-songwriter NIKI will release her upcoming third studio album “Buzz” this Friday (August 9th).
The album is her first LP in two years since the 2022 album “Nicole”, and comprises a 13-track.
NIKI said of the album, “Made with everything I have, with some of the best, most gifted people I know. Inspired by the most on-the-go last few years of my life. Songs written in random corners of airports, on planes, trains, buses, backstage in green rooms, bathrooms, Holiday Inns, driving through Maryland, flying over Labuan Bajo, drunk in Mexico City, crying in Hawaii, freezing in London, walking fast in New York, heartbroken in Los Angeles.”
She added, “Here’s an honest account of where I’m at now, which often feels like everywhere and nowhere at once.
Everywhere, nowhere, and yet only the beginning.”- From the album, she released the third and final single called “Tsunami” on July 26, 2024.
The song is received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Sian Eleri.
The track was written and produced by NIKI, with production by Andy Seltzer.
NIKI said of the song, “Last one before the album drops for all u healed baddies in ur lover girl era!!! Made u a lil song moodboard & all. I personally love this one so much it makes me emo every time I listen to it. Feels like freefalling headfirst into water in the warm balmy sun.”
She added, “If the sweet overwhelming whoosh of falling uncontrollably were a song. Written & recorded by me (in the bathroom of a green room on tour.” - source : BBC Radio 1
