Her Leather Jacket Releases New EP “The House That Chaos Built”
Nashville-based pop-punk duo Her Leather Jacket, consisting of Manny Blu (vocals) and Wes Snyder (drums), released their sophomore EP “The House That Chaos Built” on August 2, 2024.
Th EP explores themes of self-improvement, love, and personal moments, drawing inspiration from the band's past while pushing musical boundaries to create an eccentric sound.
The EP comprises 6-track, produced by Aaron Gillespie of American rock band Underoath and The Almost, mixed by Matt Huber, and mastered by Adam Grover.
Additionally, Aaron Gillespie performed guitar and vocals on the second track “Ever Been”.
The duo said of working with Aaron Gillespie, “Working with Aaron on this EP was outrageous. He's versatile, and it comes naturally. He really helped break through our barriers on this one."
They added, “Make good fucking music and have a good fucking time.”- The duo explained about some tracks for the EP.
“Cloud 9”
“'Cloud 9' is a rock love anthem. It's all about having a partner in your life that can look past your vices and downfalls and see the person you are at your core.”
“Cut Me Up”
“For us, the song is about someone questioning if they are good enough for their partner, and at the end of the day, they are there with an overwhelming, staggering kind of love.” -
“Famous”
“It's an introspective song drawing on our experience of being in Nashville and trying to be taken seriously as an artist. Johnny and Aaron are killer songwriters to work with, and while the song is definitely personal, the message has a relatable theme for anyone trying to make it.”
“Nirvana & Cigarettes”
“'Nirvana and Cigarettes' is such a fun, reminiscent song about the simpler days as kids. Just you and your friends hanging out without a single worry in the world!"
