Jonathan Plevya Releases New Song “Electric Eyes”
Nashville-based rock and soul singer-songwriter Jonathan Plevya released a new song “Electric Eyes” on August 2, 2024.
The song is the second chapter of his upcoming sophomore EP “Loverboy”, which contains an overarching narrative throughout the whole record. Each song will be a different chapter / theme of love.
Jonathan Plevya said of the EP, “This is my most ambitious project yet and it was made with a full heart of love and care to pay tribute to a bygone era.”
The track was written by Daisy Davis and Jonathan Plevyak. Produced by Jonathan Plevyak and Ryan Poole.
Jonathan Plevya said of the song, “Chapter 2 | Heartbreak. The song is called “Electric Eyes”. It’s my favorite song I’ve ever made and my most proud work. I feel like it is the song I always wanted to make. This is the music I always dreamed of making as a kid.”- He continued, “What could cause such love that you thought so pure and true to run away? If confronted with the choice to love someone, even with the very real possibility that you may have to let them go sooner then you wish, would you still choose to love them?”
He added, “C.S Lewis wrote once about love, saying 'Love is never wasted, for its value does not rest upon reciprocity.' He also wrote 'To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.' The love was worth it all, indeed.” -
