Khalid Releases New Album “Sincere”
American singer-songwriter Khalid released his third studio album “Sincere” on August 2, 2024.
The album is his first LP in five years since the 2019 album “Free Spirit”.
He first teased the album in 2020. After the release of the previous album, five singles that were said to be from the new album, “Last Call”, “Skyline”, “New Normal”, “Satellite”, and “Softest Touch”, were not included in the new album “Sincere”.
The album comprises a 16-track, featuring a guest appearance from British singer-songwriter Arlo Parks.
Khalid said of the album, “This album is a combination of my life experiences and the conversations that I've had with my fans, supporters, and loved ones. I was inspired by real life experiences and dealing with the obstacles that come with growth and adulthood. When I listen to this album, I hear a sound that is unique to me. Sincere is me at 26, and I believe it truly solidifies myself as an artist and is me at my best.“- He told Apple Music about the album title, “It was a very difficult process in naming this album, because I had to find one that summed up what I really felt in this music. I thought of it as my most vulnerable in a while, because when I'm thinking of these songs, I'm saving them over the year like, 'Okay, no, I have to keep this.' And that's vulnerable because I've known the songs' impact on me when I was in the studio. I believe that if I trust my intention and I trust my heart, then it'll have a similar impact to my listener.”
- He shared on social media, “I'm feeling many things right now. Everyone asks me if I'm excited, and I tell them that I'm anxiously prepared for everything to happen. I know I put my heart and soul into this process, and at times it felt like I was starting all over again for the first time. I believe this album will touch and impact many of you, because it still impacts me when I listen to it to this day. Anything that happened before this album almost doesn't even matter anymore, and anything that happens after this album is what the universe intended. I'm so excited to see you all listen to this in full for the first time.”
Khalid explained about some tracks for the album.
“Adore U”
“'Adore U' is one of my favorite records. It delivers a melancholic experience filled with ethereal melodies and soulful vocals setting the tone for my upcoming album that I can't wait for my fans to experience.”
“Please Don't Fall In Love With Me”
“Is that so bad? I've realized that in the quiet whispers of the night, to when the sun shines through a sliver of these blacked out curtains, that I just want to be loved. I don't know if I really miss you, or maybe the idea of you, but how can I move forward? Every relationship I get in just isn't the same. I don't know. I do know that it's been a while since the both of us talked. I can't help but think that my life would be better if we never met but that's not how it goes. Maybe none of this makes sense after all...”
“Ground”
“I can't believe the time has come! Ground is finally getting released tonight. Years ago, through moments of uncertainty, I really began to question what my purpose was as an artist. I started my own personal journey through psychedelics in 2021 and I'll never forget the moment this song came to my mind. Just like the random mountain I climbed in Arizona, life is an uphill battle. As beautiful as the top may seem, I'm so happy to embrace the ground that I walk on. My 3rd album is only 2 weeks away (finally!) and this all feels like the biggest reset for me. I feel so reminiscent to how I did when I first started my career 8 years ago. I can't wait for all of you to experience the album, so until then... hopefully this holds you over.”
