  • Ruel Releases New Covers EP “Adaptations”

  • Australian singer-songwriter Ruel released a new covers EP “Adaptations” along with a new music video for “Hollywood” on August 2, 2024.

The EP comprises a 5-track, featuring covers of Tobias Jesso Jr.'s “Hollywood”, The Weeknd's “Call Out My Name”, Sixpence None the Richer's “Kiss Me”, Imogen Heap's “Hide & Seek”, and Miley Cyrus' “Malibu”.
Produced by M-Phazes and Eli Danielsen.
The EP is his first release under his new label Recess Records / Giant Music.

Ruel said of the EP, “When the idea of an EP floated around, I immediately made a playlist of hundreds of songs that were either underrated gems or my fav hits and then paired up with M-Phazes to bring them to life. I’ve always found covers a hard task to tackle, it’s a tricky balance to make sure you do justice to the original and put your own spin on it.”

He continued, “The EP was so fun making this with M-Phazes the past couple months. Shout out to all these amazing songs I went and gave a crack at.”
