Mo Kenney Releases New Song “Signs of Life”
Canadian alt-folk singer-songwriter Mo Kenney released the second single called “Signs of Life” from their upcoming fifth studio album “From Nowhere” on July 24, 2024, following “Evening Dream”.
The new album is set to be released on September 6, 2024 and is their first body of work in three years.
Mo Kenney co-wrote the song with producer Joel Plaskett.
Mo Kenney said of the song, “When writing this song I was considering that sometimes how you are taught to love isn't the best way. There can be unlearning to do as you move through your life and discover things about yourself. There can be parallels between early relationships and how you navigate romantic relationships.”- The new album comprises a 9-track, which they recored with producer Joel Plaskett at Plaskett's Fang Studios in Dartmouth, NS.
On the album, Mo Kenny explores the good and the tough aspects of dealing with sobriety, including what it can and can't solve.
Mo Kenney said, “I sort of thought that getting sober was going to fix all my problems with relationships, and then I would just be fine. Drinking was causing all the issues I was having, but it was just the tip of the iceberg; quitting made all my problems more clear but didn't resolve any of them.” -
