Muri Releases New Song “Rêve-toi”
London and Paris based singer-songwriter Muriel Gonzales, aka Muri released a new song “Rêve-toi” on July 26, 2024.
The song is the follow-up to “Afternoon”, which was released last month.
The track was written and produced by Muriel Gonzales, with production by Sacha Arnaud.
The track reflects finding your footing and learning to rebuild yourself, as the music seeks to depict the ebbs and flows of life, covering everything from tension and desolation, to renewed aspiration.
Muri said of the song, “It's about learning to be OK being in the in-between. It's about looking up, discovering hope and finding you can dream again. I was affected by a lot of change and transitions. Where I faced the reality of letting go of certain things, certain narratives. And only in accepting that, learned that I could rebuild myself. I've moved homes and really felt I lost my sense of anchor, sense of purpose, and essence of who I am.”- Sonically, the song intertwines soul-infused vocals with iridescent synths and driving, upbeat percussion, delivering an uplifting.
She said, “The grounding pre-chorus represents a state of breaking your barriers and building you up, before pivoting to the chorus which creates a very expansive sound and experience, opening up the horizon for the listener.” -
