mgk & Jelly Roll Team Up for New Song “Lonely Road”
American singer-songwriter and rapper mgk, formerly Machine Gun Kelly, teamed up with American country music singer-songwriter Jelly Rol to release a new song “Lonely Road” on July 26, 2024.
The song pays homage to the late John Denver's iconic 1971 hit “Take Me Home, Country Roads”.
The track was written by Bill Danoff, Brandon Allen, Colson Baker, John Denver, Mary Danoff, Nick Long, Steve Basil, Taffy Nivert Danoff, and Travis Barker. Produced by SlimXX, BazeXX, Charlie Handsome, and Travis Barker.
The song is accompanied by the Sam Cahill-directed music video, featuring American actress Megan Fox and Jelly Roll's wife Bunnie Xo.
The video features two down-on-their-luck couples, mgk and Megan Fox, and Jelly Roll and his wife. mgk then decides to rob a bank to support his pregnant wife.
mgk shared on social media, “We worked on “Lonely Road” for 2 years, 8 different studios, 4 different countries, changed the key 4 times, and this Friday you'll hear we finally got it right.”
