Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding Team Up for New Song “Free”
Scottish DJ Calvin Harris and British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding teamed up again to release a new song “Free” on July 26, 2024.
This marks the fourth collaboration between Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding, following the 2013 “I Need Your Love”, the 2014 “Outside”, and the 2023 “Miracle”.
For Calvin Harris, the song is the follow-up to “Lovers in a Past Life” with British singer-songwriter Rag'n'Bone Man, which was released back in February.
While, for Ellie Goulding, the song is the first collaborative song since “Somebody” with London-based producer TSHA and American singer-songwriter Gregory Porter, which was released last September.
Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding first performed the song at Ushuaïa Ibiza in Spain last week.
The track was written by Adam Wiles, Chenai Zinyuku, and Theo Hutchcraft. Produced by Calvin Harris.- Last year, Calvin Harris told Hits Radio about working with Ellie Goulding, “Ellie has the three good things about working with somebody. A spectacular unique voice and delivery that can carry a song emotionally, and you're a laugh!”
He continued, “It's one of them, you just work with someone and it works several times, and it's just easy in the studio and it's not awkward, which frequently with me, it can be. It just flows and you get the best out of each other.”
