  • The Fray Returns With New Song “Time Well Wasted”

  • American rock band The Fray, consisting of Joe King (vocals/rhythm guitar), Dave Welsh (lead guitar) and Ben Wysocki (drums), returned with a new song “Time Well Wasted” on July 25, 2024.

The song is their first music in a decade since the 2014 album “Helios”.
Also, the song will appear on their upcoming 6-track EP “The Fray Is Back”, which is set to be released on September 27, 2024.
The track was written by Andrew DeRoberts, Ben Wysocki, Benjamin J. Wysocki, David Michael Welsh, David Welsh, Joe King, Joseph Aaron King, Sasha Alex Sloan, and Sasha Yatchenko. Produced by Andrew DeRoberts.

“I was under the belief that if you go away, people will forget about you,” the band frontman Joe King said of their comeback in a statement. “When we decided to go on indefinite hiatus back in 2016, essentially ending the band, I actually came to peace with it, for a while at least, because of how lucky we were to even experience writing, recording, and playing our music for fourteen years all over the globe.”
  • He continued, “What I didn't anticipate was that our music would live on, and perhaps I underestimated how our songs have become woven within the stories of millions, and no one forgets their story. I think life sometimes gives you a difficult gift, and the band hiatus was just that.”

He added, “We didn't start out with any definitive expectations for this new material. We were just sharing ideas with each other and going on our own journey with the songs, and it became a unifying force that gave us new purpose and direction.”

  • Guitarist Dave Welsh said, “For us, to be able to pick up the conversation where we left off is an unbelievable honor—and the opportunity to start a new conversation is something you just can't take for granted, too.”

Drummer Ben Wysocki said, “There's no way for us to make the first album again, because we're not the same people anymore—so much time has passed, and so much life has been lived. But what we can do is stay open and keep paying attention to the world around us, and hopefully create something meaningful for all the people who care about this band as much as we do.”
