  • Jorja Smith Premieres New Song “High” on BBC Radio 1

  • British singer-songwriter Jorja Smith premiered a new song “High” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

The song is the follow-up to the collaborative song “In The Night” with American singer-songwriter Childish Gambino.
Also, it is her solo music since the 2023 sophomore album “Falling or Flying”.
The track was written by Barbara Boko Hyouyhat, Edith Nelson, Jorja Smith, and Michael Stafford. Produced by DAMEDAME*.

Jorja Smith said of the song, “High is a song I wrote about finding a friend within myself. Even through the lows, you have to find the highs.”
  • Jorja Smith told Jack Saunders about the song, “The one thing that you'll need to know before you press play on it is that I actually wrote it in about falling out with one of my friends. (But she reconciled) Stronger than ever.”

She said of lyrics, “I mean when you grow in just that obstacles. Lots of lessons maybe those mistakes are not so much mistakes actually. That's why I said lessons. But I want to grow and grow as a person grow older, but I don't want to trip and get lost and things and stuff, but it's kind of inevitable.”

  • She spoke about the crafting of the song, “It's amazing that I get to make music with my friends. So it's produced by DAMEDAME* and then I wrote with Michael Stafford. I'm just having conversations with my friends and then ended up writing about what we're talking about. So I think that's how I just staying very in touch with just myself and doing it for me.”
