Hillsboro Releases New Song “sleep dealrrr”
Victoria-based indie-rock band Hillsboro, consisting of Nima Walker (vocals/guitar), Tucker Hoey (bass), Oliver Hollingshead (drums), Dexter Hodgins (violin) and Sam Wells (guitar), will release their upcoming EP “White Trash” on August 23, 2024.
The EP is their first project since the 2023 self-titled debut album.
From the EP, the band unveiled a new song “sleep dealrrr” on July 24, 2024.
The song is the second single off of the EP, following “Fell” released earlier this month.
It was written by Colt Hoey, Dexter Hodgins, Nima Walker, Oliver Hollingshead, and Tucker Hoey. Produced by Nima Walker and Oliver Hollingshead.
Initially, the track was planned to be included on the debut album. But the band finally decided to record the song for the new EP.
The sound blends early 90’s shoegaze with an infectious rhythm section, haunting violin, and frontman Nima Walker's plaintive vocals, creating a balance between nostalgia and originality.- The band violinist Dexter Hodgins said ofthe song, “Sleep dealrrr, along with the rest of the EP, is kind of the culmination of the past few years of work. In a sense it kind of closes out our first chapter, and begins the second. A couple of these tracks were written initially intended to be on our last album, but ultimately we decided to record and release them separately so we could make the song’s sound as exploive and detailed as they did in our heads. I think sleep dealrrr is a perfect example of that.”
