Thelma Plum Returns With New Song “Nobody's Baby”
Australian singer-songwriter Thelma Plum returned with a new song “Nobody's Baby” on July 24, 2024.
The song is the second single since the 2022 EP “Meanjin”, following “We Don't Talk About It” released last November.
The track was written by Alex Burnett and Thelma Plum. Produced by Alex Burnett and Xavier Dunn.
The accompanying music video was directed by Studio Antics.
The song explores the complex emotions of growing from adolescence to adulthood.
Thelma Plum said of the song in a statement, “When I was younger I was kind of forced to grow up fairly quickly and it impacted me in ways I’m only discovering now that I am an actual adult. I was always wanting to make myself seem older and more mature, and always trying to prove myself.”- She continued, “I feel sad for the younger me but I am also proud of her. It’s complicated and I didn’t necessarily understand it all until I wrote this record, in particular this song. I still don’t really understand it but maybe ‘Nobody’s Baby’ will help me explain that to you, and maybe me too.”
