  • Norah Jones Performs at NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

  • American singer-songwriter Norah Jones appeared on NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert to perform “Paradise”, “Swept Up in the Night”, “Staring at the Wall”, and “Come Away With Me”.

This marks the second time she has performed at Tiny Desk Concert since 2020.
Three songs without “Come Away With Me” are featured on her latest album “Visions”, which was release back in March.
“Come Away With Me” is the title track of her 2002 debut album.
The album “Visions” is her first project in three years since the 2021 album “I Dream of Christmas”.
Norah Jones said of the album title, “The reason I called the album Visions is because a lot of the ideas came in the middle of the night or in that moment right before sleep.”
  • “Paradise” is the third track of the album and was released as the second single off along with the Joelle Grace Taylor-directed music video. This track and another two track were written by Norah Jones and Leon Michels.

“Swept Up in the Night” is the 9th track of the album.
Norah Jones told NEW about the song, “I wrote that song for recording with the band. Leon started playing the tambourine in the studio. I wrote it in Wurlitzer to go along with that. When I recorded it later with the band, I didn’t put the tambourine in, but it sounded great, so I kept it. The groove of the drums was especially great. Brian Blade (Brian Blade) played on it, and it sounds great any time he plays it.”

  • “Staring at the Wall” is the 2nd track of the album.
She said of the song, “This is one of my favorites. It was kind of a left turn from everything else on the album. It's the first time I played guitar with Leon, we were just trying to come up with something different. I got on guitar and he got on drums and it just took off. It's just so fun to play music sometimes, and I feel like on this album there were a lot of those times. He had a really cool guitar sound going for me so it just felt good.”

“Come Away With Me” was released in 2002 from her debut album of the sam name.
She disclosed that the tune was written only using the five guitar chords she knew at the time.
She said, “I wrote this song in my bedroom and when I first moved to New York City, in the middle of the night I only new five chords on the guitar, so I use I think use all of them.”
