The Vanished People Releases New Song “SOUL VACATION”
Italian indie-rock band The Vanished People, consisting of Jacopo Maria Gaeta (producer) and Piero Bonanni (guitar), released a new song “SOUL VACATION” on July 12, 2024.
The song is the follow-up to “Glass Moon Dance”, which was released last month.
The track was written by Jacopo Maria Gaeta and Piero Bonanni.
The song is about conscious detachment from a loved one.
On the track, the band mixes typical funk sounds with J-Rock stylings and takes an ironic and joking approach, featuring funny gimmicks such as the sound of a screaming cat in the second verse (a typical mark of the band) and a reference to the Italian TV show “Boris” in the song's finale.
Additionally, the cover art conceals an obscure pop culture reference by featuring a bottle of “Seishu”, a Japanese alcoholic beverage mentioned in the movie saga ”Ju-On” to indicate the presence of ghosts in a room.- The Vanished People was formed in Italy in 2022.
Their musical style is heavily influenced by J-Rock and J-Pop, mixing American/British progressive rock, jazz, funk, electro house and many other genres.
Their single “Castaway” from the 2023 EP “SCHOOK TROP” went viral on TikTok with videos from the Bluepoch 2023 video game “Reverse:1999”, leading the band to collaborate with the company and gain significant popularity among the anime/video games fandom. -
