British singer-songwriter Alice Chater returned with a new song “Don't Let My Boyfriend Get In Your Way” on July 19, 2024.
The song is her first music in four years since the 2020 EP “Aries”.
The track was written by Alice Victoria Rose Chater, Ben Parris, Camara Alford, Christopher Stewart, Jens Christian Liven Isaksen, and Theron Makiel Thomas. Produced by Ben ParrisC. 'Tricky; Stewart, and JerkPoP.
The accompanying music video was directed by Ava Rikki.
Alice Chater said of the song, “This song is cheeky, lighthearted but with a bit of a problematic meaning. My toxic trait, which I call 'the overlap' is when you're in a relationship and your boyfriend is messing up, treating you terribly so you start to look for other options whilst your still in the relationship, for me I have codependency issues, so it's really hard for me to leave even when I'm being treated terribly. This is something a lot of my girlfriends struggle with too, it's so scary for some people to be alone and make that step.. so having options ready to move on is how I've always dealt with it.
